Why quartz is regarded as more environment friendly than granite?

As far as popularity is concerned quartz countertops Ocala have become a lot more popular than their counterparts made from granite. As per a publication named House Logic brought out by the National Association of Realtors quartz has been perhaps the most popular option from 2014 onwards. In 2013 it had tied with granite in the popularity stakes. As far as being a work surface is concerned there are plenty to be advantages had from quartz that you may not get from any other surface out there. It also helps that they happen to be among the most environment friendly materials out there.

In fact making quartz kitchen countertops is said to be a lot more beneficial for the environment and this is one thing that you can keep in mind when you try and purchase countertops for your home in the future. Products such as granite are often criticized for the way that they are obtained. You need to mine them, then cut them, and then ship them. This means that a lot of resources do get used up. It is true that some part of the granite sold in the United States of America (USA) is sourced locally.

However, a lion’s share of it comes from places such as Italy, Africa, China, Brazil, and India. You do need to use a whole lot of fossil fuel in order to get that to the USA. However, since quartz is an engineered product such things are not applicable in case of quartz countertops. In fact, when granite is quarried a lot of waste is generated as well. This is because of the simple reason that a lot of slabs get cracked and they cannot be used at all. The waste that gets generated while fabricating and installing granite is not recycled as well.
